Dominican Republic Book

This book came into being as a need. The need to photograph as a way of life, the need to know a country and its realities through its people, culture, idiosyncrasies, its countryside and towns, its coastal areas, valleys, rivers, deserts and mountains; its many landscapes -mostly unknown- that open our minds to a "New World" like that dreamed of by Columbus in days gone by. It is still brimming with perfumes, flavours, lights and textures, people, expressions and feelings, as enriching as distant from the idyllic image that invites us to stretch out placidly under the blazing sun of the Caribbean. There is that famous postcard of a beach with white sand and turquoise water, escorted by a multitude of majestic palm trees. The Dominican Republic can be (and is) much more than you might imagine or believe you know; this island will surprise you wherever you look because, although it is coveted by international tourism, it remains the immense unknown of the Greater Antilles.
